My Mayan Birthday

My_myan_birthday_glyphs
So I've very recently startedng into Mayan astrology and such. Looks interesting. I figured I'd put the glyphs, and a link to the descriptions, in one place , so that I, and those who want to know about me, can find them fairly easily.

The first one, the dreamspell one, has me as kin 68: Yellow Electric Star.
On several websites, it comes with a poem:
I Activate in order to Beautify.
Bonding Art.
I seal the Store of Elegance
With the Electric tone of Service.
I am guided by Free Will.

Which sounds pretty, but is fairly obscure. However, I found a website with a description that actually makes sense: www.astrodreamadvisor.com/M_yellow_elec_star.html

Then, just when I thought I had it all figured out, they mentioned that there's another version of the calendar, that's not dreamspell, but the traditional on., and that they work together, to form a greater whole. *sigh*
So I typed my birth-date into the converter-thing, and looked up the new(old?) Glyphs. Here's that link: www.astrodreamadvisor.com/M_white_mag_wizard.html

That one's even more impressive (and intimidating) than the other one. The star one is bad enough, talking about how I'm supposed to light the way or something. Now I have to be a shaman too? It does sound fun though, if I could just learn to be Balanced...

But maybe there's hope. I discovered yesterday, that qi-gong, which i had been thinking of as tedious Work -that-must-be-scheduled, is actually quick (less than a minute) easy (basically enhanced breathing), fun( it gives you a natural high, when you do it right), and powerful( temporarily knocked out a bad sore throat). My sore throat came back, I did the meditation, it went away again.  I ignored the meditation, and focused back on monkey-mind, and the sickness progressed to the point of coughing. Woke up, and it was completely gone. Went through the first half of the day meditating sporadically, and found a lot more peace, and balance, and happiness than usual. Didn't do it the second half, and developed a headache, the sore throat came back a bit, and my emotions went back down to "normal". There might be something to this. Might have to do this more often. It's waaay easier than a chakra-bath meditation, and is more effective. Plus it's more fun.:P

What does Qi-Gong have to do with Mayan Astrology, you ask? Easy, Mayan astrology tells about your purpose. My purpose is either to beautify/show the way, or to attune/guide. Either way, Qi Gong, which is a sacred thing that helps one attune, helps me back on the path I'm supposed to be traveling. I'm "back on the tracks of life!" Maybe. Ask me again this time next week.

Why did the hippies die?

Posted on Jan 20th, 2008 by Xxenya : Currently Transforming Xxenya
And don't tell me they didn't. They most certainly did. It used to be the popular thing to go to Washington or whatever and protest in huge numbers, so loudly and so inconveniently, that they sent out the mob police with tear gas. And the smart hippies brought helmets and gas masks, and fought to stay.

And they don't anymore. Only a very few protest like that. Many people protest, but they do it in a convenient, polite, legal sort of way, and are ignored. Most don't even do that. Most just buy organic, and have bumper stickers on their Prius, and write chirpy posts on eco-positive websites.

Don't tell me that's not dying.

What I want to know, is why did the hippies stop fighting?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 25, 2007:

Sonic Bloom. It's a nutrient solution combined with high and low-tech sound frequencies to help plants grow.Big, fast, sweet, nutrient full, and with less water than conventional counterparts. If you're looking to save the world, I suspect this may be one of the keys. Go google it now!

Composting

Vermicomposting
I've been bit by an Idea, and bit hard. Which doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to implement it myself-although I could- but I'll at least get the idea out there, so someone else can implement it, if they so choose. And what better place to put it than Zaadz?

The Idea hasn't finished coalescing yet, which is another reason I'm writing about it  here-so forgive me if I'm not very clear. Basically the idea has to do with composting, possibly organic composting, if there is such a thing.
I'm thinking that I could set up system where I went around collecting vegetable material from people, composted it in largish amounts, and then sold the result. Something like the idea of recycling, only for food scraps instead of newspapers and bottles. This would serve several purposes: First of all, it would keep a lot of material from going into landfills (where nothing bio-degrades). Secondly, it would provide farmers and gardeners with a local source of compost (not that they can't get manure from the stables down the road..but hey, the more the merrier, right? Besides, maybe I could do home delivery) Thirdly, it would increase awareness about composting and make it easier for lazy people to do. And of course, it would provide me with a source of revenue and my uncle Alex's "pet" worms with a greater amount of food, to the point where we might also be able to breed and sell said worms.

Of course I'm not entirely sure that the costs would even out. And I Personally don't know that much about composting. Plus compost smells; I'm not sure I'd want to put up with that.  But at least the Idea has been put out here where someone might use it.

Power to the People

Posted on Dec 20th, 2006 by Xxenya : Currently Transforming Xxenya
So the other night, I happened to wander downstairs, and chanced upon the CNN special on TIME Magazine's Person of the Year. I almost never watch mainstream media, partly out of apathy , partly because I've been taught my my mom that it's generally corporate bullshit meant to decieve us all. I'm not sure how much I actually believe that last...but for the moment I've been acting on it as if I did. So because I wasn't really raised on TV, I have nearly no immunity to it. I was hooked instantly by the program, and besides, I was curious about who they'd pick. I watched with tense anticipation as they discussed the pros and cons of picking this persom or that. (The president of Iran, for his nuclear ambitions, Kim Jong II, ditto, Britney Spears for finally dumping K-Fed [mental eyeroll here] and so on.) finally, they revealed it.
The person, group, or thing TIME magazine feels had the most profound influence on world events, (whether for good OR ill) is..You.

Meaning of course we/us, the public at large...
And I was pleasantly stunned, then elated. Bcause this nomination marks a great shift in the balance of global power and influence. A shift from The Mass Media (whom many believe to be stupid and/or corrupt) to The People (on whom most power depends, anyway)having the greatest influence on world events. I think it's a great thing that TIME is aknowledging this trend, firstly because it means they probably aren't going to try to stop it, secondly because it shows just how far it's gotten, and thirdly, because aknowledging such a thing gives it power and helps it grow.
I think that this revelation is going to have a profound effect on the world, because it tells anyone who reads it, sees it, or hears about it; "You have power. Indeed, the greatest power of all." And I think that is exactly what people need to hear. I think that a large part of the reason why people don't do more than they do, why they don't speak up when they should, vote, write their congressman, ect., is because they don't think they have the power to make a difference. And I think that this article, and nomination, will tell them, show them that they do. I believe that many people will be empowered by this. Be empowered to speak up, to Do Something. To Change The World. I know I am. And I can't be the only one.
